Protein Timing: The Anabolic Window Is Wider Than You Think
The 30-minute post-workout window is mostly marketing. The evidence shows total daily protein (0.7–1g per lb of bodyweight) matters far more than timing. Here's what the meta-analyses actually show.
Meridian's product and education work both run through the same filter: where does the research actually land, and which claims are the supplement industry overselling? "Protein Timing: The Anabolic Window Is Wider Than You Think" sits in a category where the gap between marketing and meta-analyses is unusually wide, and we want to close that gap for our customers — even when it means recommending a smaller stack than they came in expecting.
For nutrition science, the most reliable predictors of results are still training, sleep, and a high-quality dietary baseline. Supplementation is the lever that comes after those three are dialed in — not before. Athletes who treat supplements as the entry point almost always under-perform athletes who treat them as the finishing touch. We will say this on a sales call and lose the sale; we would rather earn the customer who comes back than the customer who buys once and churns.
Every Meridian formula is third-party tested by an ISO 17025-accredited lab. We publish the certificate of analysis for each lot on the product page, dated and matched to the batch number on the bottle. The lab report covers identity, potency, heavy metals, microbial limits, and (for our protein and amino blends) amino acid spike testing. Brands that will not show their COAs are not serious about quality — full stop.
On dosing, we publish full clinical-dose disclosures: the milligrams per active per serving, the form (citrate vs malate, monohydrate vs HCl, etc.), and the rationale for that form choice in the context of the formula. No proprietary blends, no "complexes" hiding the actual amounts. If a product is under-dosed, you should be able to tell from the label, not from the lab.
